Homeschool Enrichment Classes

A wide variety of daytime classes makes it easy for Seattle homeschoolers to explore their interests and develop their talents, avoid busy "after-school-time" classes, and meet other homeschoolers. Here's a sampler of classes offered around` the city.

SCHOOL - Seattle Christian Homeschoolers' Organization of Learning - starts its second year September 9th with classes and clubs including: Biblical Science, Fundamentals of Art I/II, Spanish (for Pre-K - Junior High), Art History, Five in a Row, Boy Scouts and American Girls. Swimming - Classes for homeschoolers are offered at Helene Madison Pool in north Seattle. Registration for fall classes is Tuesday, September 6 beginning at 6:15 p.m. And don't forget: third- and fourth-graders are entitled to free swim lessons at Seattle city pools. Piano Lessons - Karen French, in the Ravenna neighborhood, offers lessons to all ages and levels of pianists, from beginners to advanced. $20/half-hour lesson. Call Mrs. French at 525-9651 to schedule your lesson.

Tae Kwon Do - Martial arts instructor, Jason Purcell, teaches classes for homeschoolers at Martial Sports near SPU on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 - 10 a.m. Christian underpinnings make this martial arts P.E. class unique. Gymnastics - Seattle Gymnastics Academy offers classes for homeschoolers on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. A wide variety of classes are geared for toddlers through high school, beginning to advanced gymnasts, and there's even a special class just for boys.

Drawing - Thrive Drawing School offers homeschool classes on Mondays from 1-2:30 (Madison Valley location) and Wednesdays from 1-2:30 (Ravenna location).

Drama - Seattle Children's Theatre Drama School has a daytime class for students aged 8 - 12 on Tuesdays from 11:00 - 12:30.
